Report: PS3 Firmware Update 2.41
PS3 firmware update 2.41 is now available for download from Sony’s website. PS3 owners who cannot connect their consoles to the Internet will need to follow the manual update routine after downloading the firmware.
Firmware Details
Sony withdrew the 2.40 firmware after reports from users who found their machine unusable after the update although several users were able to upgrade to 2.40 without any issues. The 2.41 firmware (hopefully) fixes the issues found in 2.40. The feature set remains unaltered.
PS3 users who has successfully updated their firmware to 2.40 without any issues need not upgrade to 2.41.
PS3 users whose update failed have to contact customer service. Hopefully Sony will service the bricked consoles for free. All the best guys!
